Create grouped tax code

Here are the steps:

1. In QuickBooks, go to lists > item list.
2. Click add.
3. Create two new sales tax items. The first is LA County Tax for 5%. The second is LA City Tax for 2%.
4. Create a new grouped tax code called CA Tax:
5. As sub items, add the two tax codes.

Add Tax Mapping

You must map the tax code by county:

1. Log into Connex.
2. Click refresh drop downs.
3. Run your web connector. This will add the new tax code to Connex.
4. Return to Connex.
5. Click sales tax.
6. Click add new code.
7. Add a city, state, country, and the tax code mapping.
8. Sync a sale to QuickBooks whose city is Los Angeles.
9. The tax rate is now 7%.
