Getting Started with Multi-Currency

How to map multi-currency in QuickBooks

Introduction

Connex for QuickBooks can sync sales in the currency the customer paid or the home currency of the business.

Can customers pay in multiple currencies?

QuickBooks allows customers to only pay in one currency. A customer who paid in USD cannot pay in GBP on other sales. Connex will create a customer with the currency they used for the first order.

How can I map multi-currency to QuickBooks?

Here is a list:

  1. If you use Shopify, map your store currency to QuickBooks. If you are located in the U.S, then all of your sales are USD in QuickBooks regardless of what currency the customer used.
  2. If the sale exists outside of Shopify, you must map accounts receivable accounts to sync invoices. This ensures USD sales reach a USD A/R account in QuickBooks. Orders must be grouped by their currency code.
  3. If you use QuickBooks Online and Amazon or WooCommerce, Connex can map the currency code and the exchange rate on the day.
  4. If you use QuickBooks Online and Shopify, instruct Connex to send the currency code and exchange rate. QuickBooks Online will transfer the sale to the proper currency.
