Problem
Connex is unable to update transactions in QuickBooks.
Description
In Connex, go to sync activity and click the errors tab. You get this error:
Error 3170 : While trying to Mod a(n) Sales Order with name or order number of 88009, QB responded There was an error when modifying a SalesOrder. QuickBooks error message: You have no items or one or more of your amounts is not associated with an item. Please enter an item.
Solution
This happens when one of your line items has no item name. If you just add some notes into the description field, then our tool fails to update the order:
Use the memo field or add a field called notes. Then, add content
- Open the sales order or invoice in QuickBooks.
- Verify that each line has an item name.
If you need add notes, create a new service item called notes with a $0 price:
